What’s on the bench

There’s always something different on the bench. Cherry, red oak, spalted maple, pine, and reclaimed lumber are the current stock, along with whatever else makes its way into the shop. Every piece is made by hand, and the grain, knots, color, and imperfections mean no two ever turn out exactly the same.

Cherry & Spalted Maple Cutting Board

Handcrafted from cherry, spalted maple, and red oak, with each species arranged to show off its natural grain and character. Finished with a routed juice groove and cut-in handles, then conditioned with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax.

THE SHORT VERSION

One growing shop. Twins. And a lot of sawdust.

I’m Kylan. I started with hand-me-down tools and a habit of saying “I can build that” whenever my wife found something she liked. Corner shelves first, then barnwood decor, then Christmas pieces for family.

My first real customers were strangers at my grandfather’s Christmas tree farm, the same lot I’d been dragging trees across since I was five. I dropped off a batch of handmade trees and snowmen, not at all sure anyone would want them. They sold.

Then our twin girls arrived, and the whole thing changed shape. This stopped being a hobby that made a little money and became something I want them to grow up around, and maybe even run themselves one day, if they want to.
